A Certified Translation is when a translated document has been translated by a fully qualified translator and is formally verified for use on official purposes. Documents that may require certified translations include, but are not limited to, qualifications, certificates, birth or marriage certificates, divorce decrees, insurance certificates, etc. T&I services can provide certified translations that are recognised by public institutions in the UK.

A Sworn translation is normally done by a professional translator who has been duly authorised by the government of the country in question to translate and notarise a document. Whilst this is very common in the USA and in some other countries there is no equivalent in England.

For some legal proceedings a Court may require a translation certified by affidavit. This is a declaration which is made by the Translation Provider in writing and on oath before an authorised person (such as a notary public or a solicitor) that the translation is to the best of their knowledge, complete and accurate.

This is a certification by a government office usually the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK and an equivalent in other countries which authenticates a document as a genuine/true original. T&I Services can provide Certified Translation by apostille for most countries.
